Kenneth H. Wood, BC-HIS
Board Certified, Hearing Instrument Sciences
Lic. H.A. 1786
After earning his AA degree in electronics, Ken began with Haven Hearing Aids in Paradise, California in 1984. In addition to the retail business, the Havens owned a wholesale repair lab. Before long, Ken was doing in-office repairs for hearing aid offices across the U.S. Even though the repair work was challenging, the most rewarding aspect of the job was working with people and fitting hearing aids. He decided to open his own practice, purchased Up-State Hearing Instruments in Redding, and opened it as his own on April 1, 1990. As a hearing aid user since he was 8 years old, Ken understands the unique problems associated with hearing loss and the use of hearing aids.

Scott Morris
Scott is a fifth generation Trinity County native, who was our patient for a decade prior to becoming our employee on January 25, 2010. Over the years, Scott sent many patients our way. As such, Ken used to joke with Scott that someday he should come to work for him! Scott’s main duties are to assist Ken and Stacy with programming and adjusting hearing aids and audiometric testing, especially annual evaluations. He also performs hearing aid cleanings and servicing along with keeping in touch with our patients whom we’ve not heard from in a long time.

Pam Dalton
Pam began working with Up-State Hearing Instruments in October 2008 as our Receptionist and in December 2009 moved into the Lab Manager position. Pam is responsible for processing new hearing aid orders, coordinating both in-house and manufacturers repairs, performing hearing aid cleaning and testing, and maintaining inventory and supplies. In other words, she is the hub of our wheel! Pam has other talents as well. In a recent newsletter Pam wrote an article on how to care for hearing aids at home. She’s always willing to share her knowledge because she knows that daily home cleanings will improve hearing aid performance for our patients.
